1985 Fender Telecaster Custom Electric Guitar
Made In Japan
Original Candy Apple Red Metallic Double Bound Body
With OC. Duff 60s Pickups & Original Parts Described And Pictured
Up for sale is a beautiful 1985 Fender Telecaster Custom Made in Japan finished in classic Candy Apple Red Metallic with a desirable double-bound body and rosewood fingerboard. These mid-1980s Japanese Fender instruments have earned an outstanding reputation for their craftsmanship, playability, and attention to detail, and many players feel they rival or exceed their American counterparts from the same era.
This example has all the visual appeal of a vintage custom-bound Telecaster, featuring cream body binding front and back, a rich Candy Apple Red Metallic finish, and a comfortable maple neck with a rosewood fingerboard.
The original pickups have been replaced with a set of highly regarded O.C. Duff '60s-spec Telecaster pickups, which sound absolutely fantastic in this guitar and deliver the classic Tele twang, clarity, and punch that players love.
The guitar plays perfectly over the entire fingerboard. The neck is straight, the truss rod operates as it should, and all electronics function properly. Fret wear is very minimal as pictured.
The guitar includes the original removed parts shown in the photos, including the original saddles, control plate, electronics, knobs, neck pickup, and related factory hardware. The original bridge pickup is not included. This provides an excellent opportunity for the next owner to return the guitar closer to original specification if desired.
Cosmetically, the guitar is in very nice condition for its age and was obviously well cared for over the years. It shows only average signs of use that would be expected from a 40-year-old instrument. Flaws may consist of minor scratches, a few small chips, and scattered marks throughout, but nothing significant or distracting. Overall, it presents exceptionally well and remains a wonderful example of an increasingly desirable vintage Japanese Fender.
