This is a first gen model (2010-2011). Weight: 8.8 lbs. Swamp ash body, multi-laminate maple neck, wenge fretboard. Multi-scale lengths - 34" on G string, 37" on B string.

I have had it since 2016.

Electronics are factory stock: 2 band EMG (B170 and B100). Control layout is Neck pickup volume, bridge pickup volume, treble boost/cut, bass boost/cut with a toggle for active/passive. This control layout is one of the simpler, more direct versions before the line evolved into the later Combustion 3 and NG-era configurations.

Here are the functional upgrades:
-Nordstrand Big Single - alnico III - neck position
-Nordstrand Big Single - alnico V - bridge position
-black Hipshot lightweight tuners
-black Hipshot monorail bridges

-black Dunlop straplocks (Levy strap included with sale)

And here are the cosmetic upgrades:
-black string retainer
-blue pearloid pickguard

I do not have the original pickups, but the Nordstrands give this bass an amazing range of tones. The neck pickup has a more vintage sounding alnico III magnet and the bridge is the more aggressive alnico V formulation. Between the two different (but complimentary) pickup voicings, you can dial in a great early J Bass sound, a grinding modern tone and everything in between.

Cosmetically, there are several very light scratches around the body but nothing noticeable from more than a few inches away. There is one small imperfection/tiny ding in the back of the neck between frets 3 and 4. I couldn't get it to show up in pictures. It doesn't hinder playing in any way, but I would be remiss if I didn't mention it since a player's thumb may feel it.

Comes with a generic SKB hardshell case covered in complimentary stickers. Easily removed.
