USED) Talk about a show-stopper! This 2013 SoCo Deluxe is an obvious tribute to those flamin' hot rockabilly guitars made by Gretsch, but this one was made in Texas by the best in the biz, Bill Collings and his brilliant team.
The SoCo is a thinline single-cut model with a 15" lower bout (it's also available in 16" but this is confirmed as the smaller version). This one has luxurious wood selection with a tightly quilted solid maple top and figured mahogany for the back and sides. The mahogany neck has Collings standard '59 "C" shape, and measures .871" at the first fret and .955" at the ninth. 1 11/16" nut, short 24 7/8" scale length.
The pickups are TV Jones Filter-Trons. The hardware is glamorous gold and being a Deluxe model there are house-made ivoroid pickup rings, volume and tone knobs, and the instrument is fully bound. Figured Ziricote fingerboard.
Condition is excellent with a bit of light tarnish on the gold and only the faintest fret wear under the B string. The weight of the guitar is 7lbs, 13oz, and it includes its original hard case. It’s a beauty!! ;-)
