DW DR936514SSN692 / Collector's Pure Walnut Natural To Quick Ebony Burst

While previous Collector's Series models primarily featured maple or hybrid constructions, this model is constructed entirely of walnut wood. Its dark, warm sound is characterized by more subdued harmonics, richer bass, and a thicker midrange compared to maple.

With its high responsiveness, it handles everything from ghost notes to powerful backbeats, producing a distinctive tone for recording and live performances.

It features a VLT shell type. DW's VLT shell (Vertical Low Timbre) reduces tension on the shell by aligning the wood grain of the innermost and outermost layers vertically, resulting in a lower fundamental tone and richer resonance.

It's equipped with a "MAG Throw-Off" strainer. Despite its simple structure, it features smooth throw-on and throw-off, and easy wire action adjustment. Furthermore, the butt section features a "5P, three-position butt plate." This innovative part stores three snare tension settings—tight, medium, and loose—allowing for easy snare sound changes even during performance.

The hoops, the unsung heroes of the sound, feature a 3mm thick triple flange for increased rigidity compared to the previous model. These hoops not only provide excellent openness during rim shots but also produce a thick, solid sound.
