I don't know whether this particular 580 is special - but certainly, if they manage to make all of them like this one, their production methods are on a new level.
This guitar plays quite beautifully. It sounds sweet, full and clear from top to bottom. I had it pleked by Peach Guitars when I bought it from them - and the fretwork is perfect. The armstrong hpag pickup is one of the best pickups I've ever used (i haven't replaced it with one of their handmade offerings). the neck is closer to a classic gibson '59 profile than you expect - and it feels great.
i don't think you can find a more useable, friendly electric archtop no matter what you spend. (i've used most of them - and this one is the tip of the top). it works wonderfully in a trio with drums or a quartet with piano - very reluctant to feedback, very sweet and full sounding.
