I'm an experienced jazz guitarist - not a collector - and over the next year or so I will be selling some of the very carefully chosen guitars that I have collected over the years. I've played more or less the full range of archtops that are available, from one-man-shop boutique instruments made in America (Andersen, Comins, Buscarino, Campellone, Sadowsky) to Ibanez (GB10) and Eastman archtops, and a whole bunch of Gibson and Heritage instruments in between these extremes. The advantage of buying from me is that I have actually used the instruments to do what they are meant to do and know their idiosyncrasies - their features and their failings - very well. I'm a huge fan of Eastman and Heritage guitars and of older Gibsons. First Heritage lured me away from Gibson (as the saying goes - 'if you want a really great Gibson, get a Heritage...'), and then Eastman convinced me that their versions of Benedetto's ground-breaking range of guitars are built to the highest standards. The Benedetto influence ensures that Eastman guitars are genuinely contemporary designs - and the Eastman manufacturing methods ensure that they are built to old-fashioned pre-mass production standards.
