Rare Busilacchio Red Chord/Reed Organ (Italy, 1960s) – vintage cased electric organ and harmonium!

We are selling this rare and vintage chord/reed organ made in Italy probably by Busilacchio in 1960s with original case!

CONDITIONS: The organ is fully working and in good cosmetical condition for its age with some inevitable signs of aging. The black and white keys are perfectly tuned despite their age. Cosmetically the black keys show signs of wear /scratches in a few areas (please refer to photos), consistent with age, but all keys and buttons are fully functional. The lid lock is currently not working (see photos). Some marks/scratches on the red lid are difficult to see in the photos and have been indicated with an arrow. For the rest it is a very cool and vintage musical instrument!

There are no reported brands, but the chord buttons graphics and the gold-finished side details are certainly by Busilacchio. Busilacchio was the Italian brand that produced many legendary instruments, including the ultra-rare Busilacchio “MiniBasso” piano. It was based in Marche, Italy, in the same area where Elka, Eko, Elgam, Farfisa, Crumar, Jen, Siel, Solton, CRB, Bontempi, Antonelli, etc. were born.

DESCRIPTION: This is a cool harmonium organ in its rare red finish suitcase. Turn it on and a fan starts pumping a cool breeze across your fingers and you’re ready to go. It has a great sound – effectively it’s a harmonium without the bellows, or a horizonal accordion. The air gets pumped over metal reeds which results in a rich sound! On the underside, there is a “Made in Italy” label.

In short, this organ is a lot of fun. It has a wonderful melancholy sound which evokes such musical greats as Daniel Johnston, Ivor Cutler and Beirut!
