While the Custom 24 is the definitive PRS instrument that launched the company in 1985, this exclusive edition elevates the platform to boutique status through a selection of tone woods typically reserved for Private Stock builds.

The defining characteristic of this limited run is its neck, crafted from genuine Cuban Mahogany. Denser, stiffer, and tonally superior to traditional mahogany variants, Cuban Mahogany delivers an incredibly immediate note attack, pristine harmonic clarity, and a resonant sustain that vibrates straight through the chassis.

The top is a hand-selected Artist Grade Quilt Maple piece, finished in the spectacular Private Stock Jade Fade with a natural mahogany back to showcase the exquisite contrast of the premium timbers.

For hardware, PRS outfitted this run with sleek Smoked Black hardware, shifting the aesthetic away from standard chrome or gold into a modern, high-end look. The fingerboard is high-grade Ebony, adorned with Old-School Bird Inlays crafted from premium Awabi (Abalone) shell, direct homage to the celebrated 40th Anniversary design layout.

The Custom 24 is outfitted with PRS DMO treble and bass pickups with volume and tone controls and a 5-way blade switch. DMO (Dynamic, Musical, Open) pickups were personally designed by Paul Reed Smith and the PRS New Products Engineering team. From their own hands-on research into coveted vintage pickup models to advancements in signal analyzation and “tuning” technology, these pickups incorporate every detail of pickup knowledge PRS has gained in recent years of R&D. The DMO pickups have a “wide open” sound with vocal character, meaning they deliver clear, pleasant-sounding tones across a wide range of frequencies (bass to treble) in each pickup.

Equipped with legendary Gen III hardware and patented electronics, this Custom 24 is a monumental investment piece for the serious player and collector alike.
