If you’ve ever wished one guitar could cover a little more ground live, the Boss XS-100 Poly Shifter is a pretty wild little tool to have around.

Need to drop tune for one song without bringing another guitar? Easy. Want to add octave layers, weird ambient textures, or make single-note lines sound absolutely huge? That’s exactly where this thing shines.

What’s cool is how straightforward it is to use. Boss kept the layout simple, so you’re not digging through endless menus trying to figure it out mid-practice or on stage. Blend controls, presets, expression pedal support, and a surprisingly clean tracking response make it feel way more natural than a lot of pitch stuff out there.

And unlike older pitch shifters that can get glitchy or weird fast, this thing stays tight and articulate thanks to the polyphonic tracking and 24-bit processing. Works great with both guitar and bass too. Honestly, it’s one of those pedals that starts as “I just need this for one tuning” and ends up becoming a creative rabbit hole.
