Solid State Logic Revival 4000 Signature Analogue Channel Strip
The Revival 4000 is an all-analogue channel strip that captures the unmistakable sound of the early 1980s SL 4000 Series consoles—a tone that defined an era and shaped the music of legendary artists like Peter Gabriel, U2, and Metallica. Drawing on the revered circuitry of both the B and E Series consoles, this compact 1U unit encapsulates SSL’s legacy with its sonic excellence and standout features. It comes equipped with the classic E Series JT-115K-E Jensen transformer-balanced mic preamp, the B Series De-Esser, and the Discrete Class A VCA Dynamics section from the original E-Series consoles. The Revival 4000 also features the iconic four-band parametric E Series EQ, which includes high-pass/low-pass filters and switchable ‘Brown/Black knob’ EQ for ultimate tonal flexibility.

The Revival 4000 brings a rich, clear sound to your recordings with a JT-115K-E Jensen transformer-balanced preamp. This circuit uses the exact same Jensen component found in the original E Series channel strips, ensuring authentic sound quality.
4000 B Series De-Esser
Revival's de-esser section uses the original circuit from the classic 4000 B compressor/limiter. With a 10:1 ratio and a 7 kHz high-pass filtered side-chain, it applies broadband compression that's precisely triggered by sibilance. This makes it perfect for taming harsh vocals, drums, or other aggressive sounds.
Ultimate 4000 E Series Dynamics Section
The dynamics section is a faithful recreation of the one that defined the sound of the 1980s. This compressor/gate design is true to the original E Series channel strip, meticulously replicating its circuitry and components. It features a genuine RMS sidechain detector and an all-discrete gain reduction stage, identical to the discrete Class A VCA chip used in the original console.
This section provides a wide range of tonal control with flexible features. You can bypass the soft-knee curve, engage a fast attack mode, and select between logarithmic or linear release curves. These options give you the distinctive sonic palette that shaped countless classic records on a variety of E Series consoles.
Classic 4-Band E Series EQ
This 4-band parametric EQ is a cornerstone of modern music. The Revival 4000 gives you a choice between two iconic EQ options: the classic 4000 E 'Brown Knob' (02) and the legendary 'Black Knob' (242).
The 'Brown Knob' EQ includes two fully parametric mid-bands with SSL's signature symmetrical design. This design ensures musical intervals remain consistent around the center frequency, regardless of the gain or frequency settings. Its high and low bands are 6 dB/octave shelving filters, with the option to switch to a fixed-Q Bell response, a feature that became a staple of early '80s recordings and mixes.
Flexible Processing & Routing
For seamless integration with your existing setup, the Revival 4000 includes a dedicated balanced insert point, allowing you to easily incorporate external outboard gear.
