The PX5B.3-X5B.1 is the value pack edition of the American Classic® Extreme 5B, delivering four pairs of this powerhouse stick — buy three, get one free. Designed for drummers who demand more mass, more authority, and more reach behind the kit, this pack brings together everything that has made the 5B profile a go-to choice for hard-hitting players — and then adds the defining "Extreme" upgrade. Whether you play rock, metal, or any genre where presence and projection matter, having four matched pairs on hand ensures you're always ready to perform at full force.

The Extreme Difference: More Length, More Power

As successful as the American Classic series has been, players throughout the world continue to request longer versions of some popular models. "Extreme" models within the American Classic series each feature an extra 1/2" of length, providing extra reach and power. For 5B players, this addition is transformative. The longer shaft shifts the balance point forward ever so slightly, amplifying the natural authority of the 5B profile and giving players greater leverage on both rimshots and cymbal crashes. The result is a stick that responds to heavy playing with confidence — one that translates every intention behind a stroke into maximum sonic impact without fatiguing the wrists.

Built from Premium USA Hickory

The Extreme 5B is crafted from select hickory wood, offering a diameter of 0.595" and a length of 16.5". Hickory is the wood of choice for drummers who need durability without sacrificing feel. It is dense enough to resist cracking and splintering under heavy impact, yet responsive enough to transmit subtle dynamic variations from the hands to the kit. A medium taper gives you the best balance between the butt and the tip, ensuring the X5B never feels tip-heavy or sluggish — even during the most demanding extended play. A smooth lacquer finish completes each stick, protecting the hickory grain while delivering a consistent, reliable feel in hand.

A Tear Drop Tip for Expressive Cymbal Sound

The Extreme 5B features a wood tear drop tip and a medium taper, part of the American Classic family with a lacquer finish. The teardrop tip shape is a proven design for drummers who want warmth and richness when striking cymbals, producing a full, musical tone across ride, crash, and hi-hat surfaces. Combined with the weight and reach of the Extreme 5B shaft, the tip provides articulation without harshness — letting the natural resonance of each cymbal bloom with every stroke. The value pack format makes stocking up on this essential, professional-grade stick smarter than ever.

Why We Love This

Drummers who reach for the American Classic Extreme 5B know exactly what they want: authority, durability, and extra reach.
