The versatile MSP3 reference monitor has been redesigned as the MSP3A, introducing a new Twisted Flare Port that delivers clearer, more controlled bass in a simpler and more refined design. Powered by a 22-watt built-in amplifier, the MSP3A provides accurate and natural sound reproduction. Like its predecessor, it offers flexible inputs and controls and supports a range of optional mounting brackets. Compact and reliable, the MSP3A is ideal for small studios, post-production environments, electronic instrument monitoring, and surround sound setups.

Authentic Sound in a Compact Body

The MSP3A features a 10 cm (3.94") woofer paired with a 2.2 cm (0.87") tweeter and Yamaha’s Twisted Flare Port design. Its built-in amplifier is precisely tuned to the speaker drivers to produce clear and balanced reference sound. Despite its powerful 22-watt output, the MSP3A weighs only 3.6 kg (7.9 lbs), making it easy to transport and reposition within any workspace.

The Twisted Flare Port design draws on Yamaha’s extensive subwoofer development experience. Its flared, gently twisting shape diffuses the air vortex created at the port edge and promotes smoother airflow. This reduces unwanted port noise and ensures that low frequencies remain clean, tight, and accurate. Whether reproducing cinematic sound effects or live performance ambience, the MSP3A delivers bass that is natural and well defined.

Versatile Inputs and Controls

The MSP3A offers flexible connectivity for a wide range of equipment. A Combo XLR/TRS input allows direct connection to +4 dB mixers and professional gear, while an RCA input supports ?10 dB electronic instruments and consumer audio devices. Built-in tone controls allow users to fine-tune the sound for their monitoring environment and compensate for room acoustics or speaker placement.

Flexible Mounting Options

Threaded mounting points on the base allow the MSP3A to be installed using optional ceiling or wall brackets. It can also be mounted on standard microphone stands using the BMS-10A adapter, providing flexible placement for a variety of studio or installation setups. Speaker brackets and microphone stands are sold separately.
