2000 Gibson Custom Shop 1959 Les Paul Standard Reissue (R9) in a gorgeous, vibrant Cherry Sunburst finish.
This guitar comes from the highly sought-after "Good Wood Era" of the Gibson Custom Shop and checks every single box for both players and serious collectors.
Key Specifications & Features:
Serial Number: 9 0912 (Inked-on, accurately confirming 2000 production year)
Weight: Very-light and resonant 3.7 kg (8.15 lbs) without any weight relief. This is the sought after weight range for an R9.
Top: Highly figured 3D pinstripe maple top. The original lacquer finish is incredibly thin—you can actually feel the physical ridges and ripples of the wood grain when you run your hands across portions of the top.
Body & Neck Construction: Historically accurate solid one-piece lightweight mahogany body (no seams, no weight-relief) and a solid one-piece mahogany neck for maximum resonance and sustain.
Pickups & Electronics: 100% original factory-installed Gibson '57 Classic humbuckers. All electronics, pots, and solder joints are completely untouched and original.
Neck Profile: medium/thick ¨C¨type '59 rounded profile. Very nice comfortable feel due to its smooth, soft shoulders.
Fingerboard & Frets: Solid, tight-grained East Indian Rosewood. Outfitted with 100% original, historically accurate 18% Nickel-Silver medium-jumbo reissue frets with traditional binding nibs.
Headstock Inlay: Historically accurate 1950s-correct mother-of-pearl "Gibson" script logo, featuring the correct independent, high-floating dot over the "i".
Condition: Excellent condition with little play and well cared for.
Case Candy: Includes 100% of the original, period-correct case candy (Truss rod/bridge instructions, original braided cable, un-opened polish cloth, Gibson Gold Warranty booklet, and the historic orange/yellow hangtags), pickguard included as well.
Please note: Gibson did not issue leather trifold COAs in 2000; this comes with the authentic original paperwork package as shown in photos.
Case: Includes the original Gibson Custom brown Lifton-style hardshell case with plush pink lining in perfect operational condition.
