If you’re into vintage-style tube amps with modern reliability and flexibility, the Gibson Falcon 20 is an absolute sleeper.

Handwired in California by the team at Mesa Boogie, this 12-watt combo takes the spirit of the original Falcon and updates it in all the right ways without losing that old school character players love.

It’s built around a Class A push-pull design with a cathode-biased power section, giving the amp a super touch-sensitive feel with warm cleans, rich mids, and a gritty natural breakup when you lean into it. The single channel layout keeps things simple and inspiring—plug in, turn it up, and it just sounds good.

The onboard tube driven spring reverb and tremolo are a huge part of the charm too, adding that lush vintage depth and movement that fits perfectly for blues, roots rock, indie, and classic rock tones.

One of the best modern upgrades is the 3-position power scaling, letting you dial the amp down for home or studio use while still getting that pushed tube feel at manageable volumes. The expanded tone controls also make it way more versatile than a lot of vintage-inspired combos.

Wrapped in a gorgeous retro-style cabinet, the Falcon 20 feels like one of those amps that instantly makes you play differently in the best way possible—dynamic, responsive, and packed with character.
