This is a Yamaha RBX JM2, the second iteration of the signature bass for Dream Theater's John Myung. It features an alder body, bolt-on maple neck, rosewood fretboard, and a Seymour Duncan SMB-6a pickup coupled with an active 3-band EQ. Manufactured in South Korea in 2004 based on the serial number.
Overall, this instrument is in very good condition for being over 20 years old. There are some finish scratches below the bridge, small marks near the output jack, and small dings on the headstock which I've photographed as best I can, but otherwise it is very clean cosmetically and functionally. The paint shifts between a metallic copper and metallic plum depending on how the light hits it and I think it looks really cool. This bass plays great and in my opinion punches above its weight, which is saying a lot because this thing is heavy (literally-- this one comes in at 11lb).
