As pedal enthusiasts will know, Fender's response to the upper octave fuzz trend that began in the late 1960s was the 'Blender,' released in 1968, a 2-switch, 4-knob pedal that was an intensely aggressive upper fuzz.
This is an early model shipped around 1968, based on internal parts dating. While the extreme fuzz sound became more stable later on, this model shows signs of the circuitry being unimproved, making it a very rare item. The casing shows signs of use, such as scratches, giving it a wonderful vintage instrument feel. The volume and sustain control knobs have been replaced.
The controls are [VOLUME / SUSTAIN / TONE / BLEND], [ON/OFF (effect on/off switch) / TONE BOOST (tone boost switch)]. It is equipped with five 2N5089 transistors. Consumable parts such as the input jack, output jack, and battery snap have been replaced. Based on an extreme upper fuzz, the tone control and boost switch have a wide range of effect, producing a dynamic and ferocious fuzz tone.
