I have an Egnater E3 boutique 20 watt tube amplifier here.

Note that this one was completed in December of 2025 and is hand signed by Bruce Egnater. It is not made by one of his students in a seminar. Bruce handmade this one himself.

Conditionally, it looks gorgeous. The tolex has that recent glowing look to it with no fading. There might be faint traces of use on it, but overall it looks absolutely fantastic. The tubes are not even fully warmed in yet, so it is in immaculate sonic condition.

It is a pretty easy amp to describe tonally, despite what you may have heard if you are trying to research these, because there is not a whole lot of info on them.

It is a classic Marshall style amp, but with more tone shaping features and a little bit of extra gain on tap. It is not a high gain modern voiced amp. You will not be able to get true modern high gain. It really excels at crunch and classic rock sounds. And when you use the gain boost, you can get sort of that Guns N’ Roses classic metal sound that is very hard to get.

Also, there are some very good comparables here. I have owned a Suhr Badger, a Victory Sheriff, a vintage 1980s Marshall JCM 800, and a Friedman Pink Taco. This is absolutely in that same camp. Those amps all have that classic British sound with the rich midrange. It is a really authentic rock and roll tone.

The advantage of this one over those aforementioned amps is that this one is completely handwired. These amps are easier to service, so they are built to last for the foreseeable lifetime of the user. With circuit board amps, if you are not under warranty and something goes wrong with it, no one can fix it. Handwired amps also tend to have a bit more of that warm, sweet, touch responsive tonality. Bruce hand picked every component in this. It is quite a bit different than the Egnater Rebel, Tweaker, and Tourmaster series, because those were production amps that were made overseas and built to fit into a certain price point.

This one is basically the culmination of everything Bruce learned in 50 years of making amps, and it is the amp that he always wanted to make. So there are not a lot of them out there. If you have done your research, pull the trigger, because it is a nice opportunity to score a virtually like new one, as rare as they are.

I have it packed up in a perfectly fitted amp head box that has styrofoam cushioning on the top and bottom, as well as bubble wrap over that. It will ship fully insured by Reverb to protect us both.

Thanks for reading and considering!
