The JHS 3 Series Bit Crusher Pedal is a great fit for players who want to break their signal in creative ways, from subtle digital texture to full-on glitch and destruction. Whether you are adding lo-fi character, synth-like tones, or aggressive digital artifacts, this pedal gives you a straightforward way to get there without overcomplicating the process. It is part of the 3 Series lineup, so the focus stays on simple controls with a wide usable range.

At its core, the Bit Crusher gives you control over two main elements, bit depth and sample rate. The Crush knob reduces bit depth from clean 24-bit audio down to gritty, square-wave distortion. The Sample Rate knob lowers resolution from full bandwidth down into aliasing and glitch territory, creating everything from subtle harmonic shifts to chaotic, broken textures. The Filter control helps shape the result, and the Type toggle switches between a smoother low-pass response and a more focused, midrange-heavy filter that leans into that small speaker, lo-fi sound.

From a usability standpoint, this pedal is easy to dial in but rewards experimentation. The simple layout makes it quick to find usable sounds, while the range of each control gives you plenty of room to explore. It runs on standard 9V power and fits easily onto any board with its compact footprint. We like this one for players who want to add something different to their setup, especially if you are looking to push beyond traditional guitar tones into more experimental territory.
