Spaceman Effects Sputnik IIb Deluxe Germanium Fuzz - Olive Drab Cyrillic

Spaceman Sputnik IIb Deluxe Germanium Fuzz, Olive Drab Cyrillic is built for players who want a fuzz that goes beyond traditional tones and into more experimental territory. This is a great fit for players who enjoy dialing in unique textures, from classic germanium warmth to unstable, glitchy sounds. The Olive Drab finish with Cyrillic Text gives it a distinct visual identity, but the real appeal is the wide range of tones available under the hood.

At its core, the Sputnik IIb uses NOS Soviet-era germanium transistors and diodes, delivering rich harmonic content and a naturally responsive feel. The Range control sets the overall gain, while the Bass toggle lets you choose between reduced, original, or boosted low end. The Filter switch works with the Calibrate control to shape the tone in a more detailed way than a standard tone knob. A switchable input transformer lets you choose between a looser, more open response or a tighter, more focused sound that works better with other pedals.

The standout feature here is the footswitchable Drift mode, which introduces oscillation, pseudo-octaves, and more chaotic textures. The Scan control acts like a squelch, letting you tame or unleash how wild that behavior gets. From a usability standpoint, it is interactive and rewards experimentation, with controls that respond strongly to each other. Built by hand with through-hole components and true bypass switching, it is designed for long-term reliability. We like this one for players who want a fuzz that can cover vintage tones but really shines when pushed into more unpredictable territory.
