1997 Taylor Custom Shop Cujo - 1 of only 125 ever made from the famous 400 year-old walnut tree seen in the famous 1983 movie. The tree was seen prominently next to Cujo in the film, which was based on the novel from Stephen King, who gave his blessing to the incredible concept and signed each label. The inlay work is among the most intricate ever completed by Taylor. The neck tells the story of the 200 pound Saint Bernard who stood guard for his family next to this walnut tree, but was turned into a vicious killer when bit by a rabid bat. The 400 year-old walnut body gives the guitar a depth and richness that is simply not found on other acoustic guitars. Walnut was a regular choice for the body cases of the world's most expensive pianos before it became too expensive to source. Paired with a premium spruce top, this guitar produces tone and articulation suitable for the world's biggest stages and finest recording studios. It features a premium Fishman soundhole mounted microphone pickup with full controls. It is in very good ready-to-record/perform condition with some playing wear and aging to the top finish and some very minor clear coat spotting at the top of the back of the headstock. This is a guilt-free collector guitar you take on the road and not fear having sleepless nights worrying about it getting a bump or a scratch. It is just an awesome guitar no one else has... a great way for an artist to stand out on stage, in photo shoots and in music videos. It is a guitar with an incredible background story that is a major conversation starter. "What guitar did you use to record your latest album?" - oh just a 400 year-old flame walnut bodied custom shop Taylor signed by Stephen King with insane inlay work telling the story of Cujo. It does not get cooler than that.
