Up for sale is a 1967 Gibson J-50 slope shoulder dreadnought, a classic vintage Gibson with the warm, woody tone these are known for.

This guitar shows average honest playwear and age-related flaws, including finish checking throughout, exactly what you’d expect from a well-loved vintage piece. There are no signs of abuse, just natural aging and use over time.

The bridge was professionally replaced long ago and remains in great shape. Structurally, the guitar is solid. There is one very small, well-glued crack on the back, located just above the model stamp inside the guitar. It is stable and barely noticeable. No other repairs or anything in need of repair to note.

The neck is straight and the truss rod functions properly. It plays beautifully across the entire fingerboard with no issues. The current action is approximately 3/32" at the body, with a little saddle remaining for future adjustment if desired.

The guitar has been inspected under blacklight and shows no signs of overspray, refinishing, neck reset, or other repairs beyond what is noted above.

Serial number is 105273, with a faint “2” stamped above (very hard to see and not uncommon. At this point in its life has no real significance.

Tone-wise, this J-50 delivers exactly what you’d hope for—warm, open, and resonant with that classic Gibson thump. It’s a fantastic player with great vintage character.

It comes with a 1970s Gibson hard case with purple lining, which is in great condition, functions properly, and has no funny odors.
