Touchscreen Mixing and DSP Control

At the center of the MT 48U is a large, high resolution color touchscreen that provides direct access to nearly every function of the interface. Acting as both a digital mixing desk and an audio interface, the MT 48U allows gain, pan, routing, EQ, and dynamics processing to be adjusted directly on screen. Internal DSP provides four independent mixes, including main outputs, a secondary stereo mix, and two discrete headphone mixes. A built in talkback microphone with dedicated control ensures clear communication during recording sessions.

Premium Analog Inputs and Outputs

The MT 48U offers four high performance analog input channels built around Merging Technology’s class leading AD converters. Inputs one and two use phantom powered XLR and 1/4 inch combo jacks for mic or line level signals. Inputs three and four provide rear panel XLR inputs with phantom power, along with front panel instrument and line level connections. This configuration allows microphones, line sources, and instruments to be connected simultaneously with no compromise in quality.

On the output side, balanced XLR main outputs and balanced TRS line outputs support dual monitor setups or external headphone amplifiers. Two ultra low impedance headphone outputs on the front panel provide precise monitoring with adjustable crossfeed, ideal for long tracking or mixing sessions.

Digital Expansion and Network Audio

Designed to grow with your studio, the MT 48U includes extensive digital expansion options. ADAT optical I O allows up to eight additional channels to be added via external mic preamps. MIDI and GPIO functionality is available through optional TRS to DIN adapters, enabling integration with controllers, footswitches, or automation systems.

An onboard RJ 45 Ethernet port supports Dante and AES67 audio networking, allowing the MT 48U to function as part of large scale digital audio systems. This makes it suitable not only for desktop recording but also for broadcast, post production, and networked studio environments.
