5 lbs. 14 oz.
An all-original PRE-CBS 1962 Fender Musicmaster in VG+ condition, complete with its original case and strap. One-family owned since new.
Notable features include a February ’62 neck date, making this a desirable slab board fingerboard example — just before Fender’s mid-’62 transition to the veneer board. For collectors, that’s a big plus.
Even more uncommon: it retains its original dark textured maroon case, rather than the more typical tan case seen during this period.
Introduced in 1956, the Fender Musicmaster was Fender’s first short-scale student model, built alongside the Fender Duo-Sonic. By 1962, it had evolved into a refined, no-frills design that remains highly collectible today.
Originally conceived as an affordable, entry-level instrument, the Musicmaster delivers the unmistakable early-’60s Fender tone and feel in a simple, highly playable package.
*note-missing bridge cover. Some light dings/scratches around sides photographed.
