The Tama PSS146 Starphonic Stainless Steel Snare 14"x6" is a high-end snare drum with 1.0 mm steel shell, grooved hoops and claw hooks. The thin stainless steel shell has a very resonant yet clear fundamental sound. The tone is cutting and raw with rich bass content and defined harmonics. The Starphonic snares are built by Tama in Japan and manufactured under the highest quality standards. Equipped with grooved hoops, claw hooks and Linear Drive throw-off, the Tama PSS146 Starphonic snare leaves nothing to be desired.
The 1.0 mm thin stainless steel shell promises a clear sound, but with balanced harmonics and dynamic definition. From the factory, Evans heads are mounted, a G1 Coated as the batter head and an Evans Snare Side on the reso side. Standard is the MS20RL14C carbonized steel snare wire, this is sensitive in response and combined with the Linear Drive throw-off allows for high dynamic graduations.
