The Universal Audio Apollo Twin MkII DUO Heritage Edition is a desktop Thunderbolt audio interface for Mac and Windows, sized for songwriters, producers and engineers who record one or two sources at a time. It pairs two Unison mic preamps and 24-bit/192 kHz conversion with UAD-2 DUO processing, two SHARC DSP chips that run UAD plug-ins while you track with 1.1 ms round-trip latency at 96 kHz. The Heritage Edition adds five UAD plug-in titles to the Realtime Analog Classics bundle that comes with the interface.
Heritage Edition Plug-Ins
Registering a new Heritage Edition unit adds the UA 1176 Classic Limiter Collection, Teletronix LA-2A Classic Leveler Collection, Pultec Passive EQ Collection, UA 610 Tube Preamp & EQ Collection and UA Pure Plate Reverb to your UA account. Registration needs a computer with an internet connection and UAD software installed.
Connecting to Your Computer
Apollo Twin MkII has a Thunderbolt 2 port, and the Thunderbolt cable is not included. A Mac with Thunderbolt 3 or 4 needs Apple's Thunderbolt 3 to Thunderbolt 2 Adapter. A Windows computer needs a Thunderbolt 3 port and a qualified Thunderbolt 3 to Thunderbolt 2 adapter, since UA says Thunderbolt 2 devices do not work with Windows computers that have Thunderbolt 4 or 5. UA lists support for macOS 11 Big Sur through macOS 26 Tahoe and for 64-bit Windows 10 and Windows 11.
