The Focusrite RedNet AM2 is a compact stereo monitoring unit for Dante audio-over-IP networks, combining a high-output headphone amplifier with balanced line outputs. It receives two channels from any Dante network and converts them to analogue with 120dB dynamic range on the line outputs and 118dB on the headphone output.
Headphone Amplifier
The headphone amplifier drives headphones from 32 to Ω at high levels, making the AM2 suitable for loud stage environments as well as quiet studio monitoring. Independent volume knobs for headphones and line output, plus a line output mute switch, provide straightforward control. An integrated Gigabit Ethernet switch on the second network port allows daisy-chaining of additional Dante devices.
Mounting and Power
The aluminium enclosure includes non-slip feet for desktop use and a threaded bush on the base for mounting on a standard microphone stand. Power can be supplied via PoE (IEEE 802.3af) on the primary network port or the included 12V DC power supply.
