Here for sale we have a Gretsch G5236 Electromatic Pro Jet Electric Guitar in Silver Sparkle finish. Made in China in 2010, this guitar consists of a Chambered Mahogany body, a Mahogany neck, and a 22-fret Rosewood fingerboard. Other appointments include a G-cutout Tailpiece, an Adjusto-Matic bridge, and Die-Cast tuners. The pickups installed in this guitar are a pair of Gretsch Mini Humbuckers. These are wired to a master volume, master tone, and a three-way pickup selector.

The 'C' profile of the neck is easy to get your hands around combined with the Gloss finished neck, this encourages fast playing as it's easy and slick to manoeuvre along the profile.  The Medium Jumbo frets enhance bends and vibrato techniques, making them easier to play with the 12" radius still giving enough comfortability for chordal fretting. The Chambered Mahogany body also reduces weight which aids in reducing strain over long playing or performing sessions.

The Gretsch Mini Humbuckers in this guitar may appear smaller, but they very much still offer a full, thick tone. There is plenty of warmth and roundness present in the neck position. The middle position sounds punchy, with driving mids along with crisp and clear highs making for a nice blend of the two pickups. The bridge position provides open sustain and broad harmonic clarity, making chords sound crystalline and clear. The simple wiring gives plenty of versatility without any complicated switching, making this instrument great for tonal sculpting to the players desired taste.

Luthier Report

Our ID: 1020226177881

Weight: 8.7lbs

Serial: CYG10060309

Aesthetic Condition:

Headstock: Overall good condition. The front face demonstrates light scratching, only visible under direct light at certain angles, as well as indentations marks above the 'Gretsch' logo and in between the parallel lines of the letter H. The top edge and corners demonstrate indentations that have removed the finish to reveal the wood beneath, with one corner demonstrating some white paint transfer. The treble side cutaway demonstrates an indentation that has removed the finish to reveal the wood beneath.

Neck: Overall very good condition. The rear of the neck and fingerboard demonstrate light scratching, only visible under direct light at certain angles. These cannot be felt in the playing position and in no way affect the neck's feel or playability.

Body: Overall good condition. The front face demonstrates light scratching throughout, with moderate scratching below the pickguard. The rear face demonstrates scratching, scuffing and indentations throughout, most notably near the jack socket, where the finish has chipped to reveal the wood beneath. The sides demonstrate light to moderate scratching, scuffing and indentations, most notably to the tip of cutaway horn, near the jack socket, the treble side lower bout rear edge, and near the binding by the rear strap button. These have all removed the finish to reveal the wood beneath.

Condition of Frets:

The frets demonstrate moderate signs of use, not affecting playability. Light denting is present to the early register and flattening of the frets is apparent throughout. There is considerable material remaining for any fret work the new owner may wish to perform.

Current Set Up:

Truss Rod: Though this guitar demonstrates ideal relief with the current 10 gauge strings, due to the one way truss rod, further relief cannot be added.

Hardware: Fully functional and good condition. Mild tarnishing is apparent to the pickup rings and bridge. The 'Gretsch' logo demonstrates some light fading.

Structural: No concerns or issues to note - see Truss Rod section.
