This innovative reimagining of Martin's iconic D-18 blends vintage esthetics with modern playability. Using a mix of traditional and contemporary techniques, the D-18 Street Legend produces a rich, balanced tone with clear, ringing highs, warm mids, and tight low end. The solid aged spruce top coupled with mahogany back and sides provide a sturdy yet lightweight build for resonant projection and all-day playing comfort. The modified low oval neck profile and wider fretboard facilitate complex chords and intricate single-note runs with silky-smooth playability.

Distressed Finish Evokes the Look of a Well-Loved Vintage Instrument

The D-18 Street Legend's aged natural finish is distressed to resemble a guitar that has been cherished for decades. The relic'ing process creates a patina of dents, dings, scratches and worn edges that give the D-18 Street Legend a rustic, lived-in vibe. Underneath its vintage-inspired exterior beats the heart of a precision-engineered modern acoustic, constructed using computer-aided design and time-tested traditional woodworking techniques.

Forward-Shifted Scalloped Bracing Enhances Clarity and Projection

The D-18 Street Legend's forward X-bracing is shifted slightly forward to generate a robust low end with enhanced clarity in the midrange and treble registers. This innovative bracing pattern allows the solid mahogany top to vibrate freely, producing a loud, balanced tone with shimmering highs, warm mids and a tight, punchy low end. The result is a modern acoustic sound suited to a variety of musical styles.

Ergonomic Neck Profile and Wider Fretboard Facilitate Fluid Playability

The D-18 Street Legend's modified low oval neck and wider fretboard were designed for maximum comfort and playability. The rounded neck profile and extra fretboard width make complex chords and fast single-note runs effortless. The 25.4" scale length provides slinky string tension for easy bending. These ergonomic design elements allow guitarists to play for longer with less hand fatigue.
