This is a very special drum set with an extraordinary history. This kit was the final tour kit which belonged to Ron Howden of Nektar, custom built for him by the artisan drum builder, Ellis Drum Co. Many Videos are available on YouTube of Ron and the band performing with this kit live up until his passing.
These are what I believe extremely light weight, thin 5-ply drums that are ergonomic, comfortable, durable, and as loud and crisp as can be. The toms are secured with floating Gibraltar hardware and are sturdy as a rock. (Vintage Tama tom mount *included*)
The kit was very special to Ron and he cared for it immensely. It looks and plays like new and is a true sight and sound to behold in person. Ellis was a close friend of his and built the kit to his specs. The flow of playing this drum set is truthfully graceful and I’ve never played a more comfortable kit that could go in both jazz or rock and roll directions, all while looking stylish as hell.
