Dimebag Darrell's last guitar, as documented in Guitar World Magazine and seen by tens of thousands of Pantera fans over the years on display above center stage at Pantera's legendary "The Clubhouse" strip club in Dallas, Texas owned by Dimebag, Vinnie Paul and Rex Brown - all from Pantera. The guitar features the club's logo as custom artwork under the clear coat and comes directly from the estate of Dimebag's famous bother, Vinnie Paul, the drummer of Pantera who should need no introduction. I have Vinnie's entire snare collection and personal kick pedal listed here for sale shortly as well. ** You can hear a full sound demo of this guitar on TikTok where it already has over 100,000 listens **

**Note - price is fixed at 250k euros. If you are outside of the EU, you are likely to see the price change each day slightly based on global currency exchange market. I just had an overseas buyer get upset thinking I raised the price on him - I haven't. Price is fixed at 250k euros. **

Every major rock and metal band that toured America went to The Clubhouse and partied at Vinnie's house after for one of his famous BBQ pool parties. From Metallica to Ghost to Judas Priest and Dave Grohl to NFL Players, NHL hockey players and NASCAR drivers - all of the legends partied there. Pantera had their last album release party at the club for 2000's "Reinventing The Steel" and Dimebag regularly performed on the stage area where this guitar was displayed after his death.

This guitar is not only an incredible piece of rock and metal history, it is an important piece of modern guitar history that is worthy of any museum.

To understand the guitar's significance, we have to go back to December 2004 and revisit a tragic moment in the history of modern music, when Dimebag Darrell was murdered by a deranged fan on stage while performing alongside his brother Vinnie Paul.

Dimebag was under exclusive contract with Washburn Guitars at this time, but that contract what set to expire at the end of 2004 with a few months grace period for final production to wrap up no later than the end of March 2005.

Behind the scenes in 2004, Dimebag had met with Dean and presented this Razorback Stealth concept for a potential partnership with a new line of signature guitars exclusively sold by Dean with Washburn out of the picture. Dean Guitars is where it all started for Dimebag with a ML guitar he won in a guitar playing contest that he modified over the years. His love for Dean guitars and his "Dean From Hell" is well documented. This guitar was the prototype Dean made for Dime and was the last guitar Dime ever ordered and likely the only Dean Razorback guitar he ever saw or touched, although not in its final completed form, as the guitar was completely finished mere days after his death in January 2005 according to its serial date - but new evidence has come out that this guitar was made much earlier and was personally inspected at the very least before his desth - read on.

After Dime's untimely passing, the guitar went to his brother Vinnie Paul, who played it and then put it permanently on display at "The Clubhouse" where tens of thousands of fans and celebrities would see the guitar prominently on display next to the club's logo, which is featured on this guitar itself.

As anyone who has ordered a custom guitar from a major brand is aware, they aren't built in a day or a month. Without question, this prototype was built for Dime while he was alive - much earlier than previously believed - and was almost certainly flown out to him for personal inspection behind closed doors. This is because of new evidence discovered when I examined Dave Mustaine's first Dean prototype signature guitar built the following year, which I have for sale here as well and with a link to some very interesting historical footage from NAMM 2007 that provides a lot of insight into the process Dean went through in developing prototypes for prospective artists under contract with rival guitar companies. Dave Mustaine was under exclusive contract with ESP in 2006, which also ended at the end of that year. Days later Dave shows up with Dean at January winter NAMM 2007 in Los Angeles with his fully completed "2007" Prototype signature V guitar you can see listed for sale here. Mustaine and the Dean team put on a ruse about the guitar being built rapidly in a few weeks and being flown out to Mustaine's hotel for inspections, but in reality this was not true. Of course. Dave's prototype has an inscription under the back plate that reveals his prototype was built a year earlier in early 2006 when he was well under exclusive contract with ESP Guitars. The "2007" date was deliberately used by Dean to evade legal conflicts for themselves and Mustaine.

Which brings us to this guitar. Dimebag is documented as officially signing a new exclusive rights deal with Dean Guitars in Decemeber 2004 while under contract with Washburn and only days before his death, catching Washburn by surprise. The January 2005 date is ever so conveniently added above Dime's signature (both under the original clear coat) so that Dimebag would not be in breach of his contract with Washburn and Dean would escape liability for any claims of copyright licensing breach by Washburn during their exclusive rights period. Obviously Dean intended for Dimebag, their newly signed artist, to be at NAMM 2005 with this guitar and probably a few more, but history had other plans and instead Dean presented the Dime FBD "Far Beyond Driven" Tribute guitar at 2005 NAMM in honour of the fallen legend...which was just a Dean ML with a Dimebag sticker on the bottom....truly proving that Dean could not create and launch a new guitar model in just a few weeks given the proximity to Dimebag's passing.

The newly uncovered evidence of the deception that Dean employed with metal guitarists under contract with rival guitar brands in order to secretly poach them, makes clear that this guitar was likely built in early 2004 well before Dime was killed and then refined over the course of the year with back-room rendezvous for Dime's personal inspection amd approval, thus resulting in this totally refined and completed guitar with near-identical final production logo allegedly completed only mere days after his passing. Mustaine's talk of secret hotel meetings makes it hard to believe the same did not take place between Dean and Dime.

How much contact Dime had with his last guitar will never be fully known, but we do know he spec'd it out with his famous strip club's artwork, that this was the first prototype Razorback ever built for him and that it lived the rest of its life played by Vinnie Paul for a short time and then displayed in the Pantera strip club in Dallas until Vinnie's passing. Both Dime's signature and the separate "Made In USA" January 2005 serial number from the builder appearing in the same ink - both under clear coat - lead me to believe Dean employed the same ruse as the January "2007 Prototype" he made for Dave Mustaine that was actually built a year earlier and given a later date to avoid conflict with the competitor who retained exclusive rights. Washburn couldn't complain about this model being built during their exclusive licensing period if it is dated as being built a few days after that agreement expired. This Razorback model obviously became an important guitar for the next generation of rock and metal guitarists. A 10,000th sales commemorative Razorback model was released as early as 2008. This prototype has slightly different dimensions, headstock artwork and truss rod cover from the model that went into production. What you see here was exclusive for Dimebag only.

The fact that Dimebag is a legendary guitarist with immense influence is without question. Eddie Van Halen found Dimebag so original and inspirational, that he donated his multi-million dollar iconic "Bumblebee" yellow and black striped guitar to be buried with Dimebag, saying "Dime was an original, and only an original deserves the original."

One person can now own the original Dimebag Razorback guitar. This is the only guitar that Dime designed and had made as his own model. It was his last guitar. A lot of prospective buyers will own a watch that costs more than this guitar. Ditch the watch and own an amazing piece of history.
