Yamaha Custom Shop GC-10S *All Solid* Lacquer Finish Grand Concert by Toshihiro Kato - 1977

Northwest Vintage Guitars presents a Yamaha Custom Shop Cedar top Grand Concert model GC-10S by Toshihiro Kato in 1977.  This is the early spec all solid construction by Yamaha's best Master Luthier.   Mr Kato had a knack for selecting the best available woods and creating top notch, non-pareil instruments that are some of the best examples in existence.   

The nut measures 52.4 mm, neck depth is 24.25mm-26mm at the 1st and 12th frets respectively.  It's a comfy wide D profile with ample flat area to find purchase for the anchor thumb. Freshly strung with D'adarrio pro Arte EJ46-3D strings and deep cleaned for a great playing experience.   There are two added clear pickguards as pictured.   There are a few scratches, dings, and dents as pictured.  It remains in excellent playable condition with no dead spots or unwarranted buzzing. 

There is a repaired top crack and reinforced top around the fretboard extension as pictured.  These models frequently suffer from cracks along the edge of the fretboard extension resulting in a collapsing neck set and very high action.  It started to happen with this one and we were able to prevent any damage and reinforce the area to ensure it doesn't happen in the future.  Comes safely packed in the high quality case in the photos.
