DW Zak Starkey's THE WHO, 8-Piece Tour Set with Rack and Matching Snare! 1988 - White/Gold Hardware

Part of the Zak Starkey Collection at Donn Bennett's Drum Vault in Seattle, WA.

This is the very first set that Zak played with The WHO upon joining the band in 1996. Prior to joining the band, he played the set in solo projects his future WHO bandmates John Entwistle and Roger Daltrey. The drums are custom made DW thick maple shells with a white finish ply and gold hardware. The set was inspired by one of Keith Moon’s drum sets with the same finish and hardware. 16x14” and 15x13” floor toms, 14x9”, 13x9”, 12x9” and 10x8” mounted toms, two 22x16” basses and a 14x5” Edge snare. The set is all mounted on a custom DW rack system.

The set remains in excellent functional condition. We've gone over every piece of the kit and given it a good cleaning and inspection. There is no damage to the shells and everything works as intended. The set shows some wear from years cris-crossing the globe with The WHO. There is significant pitting and scratching in the gold finish on the drums, hardware and rack. There are some minor scuffs on the white finish of the drum shells. All said, the set looks, plays and sounds fantastic!

NOTE: One of Zak's 22" bass drums missed the original shipment from England to the U.S. We used a 24" bass we had in stock for the photos (seen on the right). The original 22" bass will arrive from England soon.

The complete gold rack system and hardware seen in the photos is included. The cymbals in the photos are not included.

A pair of Zak's hand signed signature sticks, a The WHO tour poster signed by Roger Daltrey, Pete Townsend and Zak Starkey and a small collection of The WHO tour artifacts are also included.

This set was acquired directly from Zak Starkey and includes a COA signed by Zak Starkey.
