Combining the airy tone of a semi-hollow with the rich sustain of a solid body,
the Gibson Midtown, a deluxe model from 2016’s limited production run, delivers a unique and refined sound.
Unlike the ES-335, the Midtown features a flat maple top paired with a chambered mahogany back,
offering a distinct semi-acoustic resonance and Gibson’s innovative approach to tone design.
Its diamond head split inlays and wide block position markers, signatures of the Custom package,
complement the beautiful hand-selected quilted maple top, exclusive to this limited edition.
Equipped with Burstbucker 1 & 2 pickups, it balances the “semi-hollow warmth” in clean tones
with the “solid-body punch” when driven—resulting in a versatile, highly playable instrument.
Both the body and neck use hand-selected mahogany,
and the inclusion of Richlite fingerboard and multiple bindings give it a distinct identity,
setting it apart from both the ES-355 and ES-339 models.
