The D-X2E Sitka mahogany features a D-14 fret body with a spruce pattern HPL top and figured mahogany pattern HPL top, back, and sides. A long 25.4" scale helps deliver its power with increased string tension. HPL resists dings, dents, and scratches more than a traditional wood guitar, making it perfect for those who wish to take their guitar to places such as camping or the beach. Features include a herringbone ink rosette, black birch laminate neck, FSCA fingerboard and bridge and Martin E-1 electronics. Like all X Series guitars, the D-X2E Sitka mahogany comes in a gig bag featuring headstock, bridge, and end pin protectors, a durable water repellant exterior, and foam padding for protection on the road.
Tone
The D-X2E Sitka mahogany is a full-size 14-fret dreadnought guitar, one of Martin's most recognizable body shapes. The HPL top in combination with scalloped X bracing delivers a powerful bass response while not overpowering the mids and treble. The dreadnought is known for its power and volume and this guitar certainly delivers.
