Wild vintage c 1980 Alembic Stratocaster style electric guitar prototype in excellent playing condition!
She definitely has some RST/ skylark features, but also vibes with the 80’s persuader/ vector bass series in terms of design esthetic. I’ve certainly never seen another example quite like this one, with a factory kahler tremolo, neck thru Koa construction with flamed maple body and headstock, Alembic embossed pickups and active electronics, including a crazy five way strat style switch with kill mode for the SS telecaster ish(?) pickup configuration!
Dual truss rods, ebony board with oval pearl inlay, and 70’s fender tuners? I am stumped, stumped, stumped, but this guitar is rad, rad, rad.
The boost is intense, and she sounds soooo stratty. Really interesting tonal possibilities with these pickups. The Kahler is terrific, and set for a light touch, and she plays beautifully!
Cosmetically, she’s obviously quite the looker, and those amazing flamed hardwoods put on quite a show. There is evidence of an historic headstock repair at the lamination, unfortunately all too common on Alembic guitars and basses, but it is rock solid. Light and natural patina, lacquer and play wear throughout, she ships in the pictured hard case.
