VINTAGE 1940's Joseph Rogers and Sons Tacked Tom Set in Red Gold Duco

• Details & Notes: 40's era Joseph Rogers and Sons tacked tom style trap kit in a beautiful Red Gold Duco lacquer. Dry and warm with a classic Big Band era "tub" sound. Over all in great condition giving the era of kit, with some typical signs of age. The lacquer duco finish shows some scratching and chipping, which is common of early Duco painted drums. The 13" tom appears to have what from a distance may look as excessive chipping, but this is actually variation and streaking/clouding in the finish on this drum. Both tacked resonant heads have minor edge splitting in areas, with the 13" having one split that reaches further onto the head. Both tacked heads were painted with a white plastic like coating, possibly at the factory, and show ample chipping of this material. The bass drum is a single tension drum, using universal Walburg & Auge style claws and t-rods from the era. One center nodal lug and corresponding claw/t-rod are missing, however the bass drum still keeps its tuning and feel well. The drum comes with an external muffler, a wood block and cowbell combination mount, an era accurate chrome cowbell, and a hoop mounted cymbal holder. The bass drum sports two hoop mounted legs. The set also includes a 40's hi-hat stand with low bell style cymbals. These brass cymbals have ample edge warping as typically seen. The drums also come with a Ludwig Jr bass drum pedal that has a large felt beater.
