With a nod to the glory days of tube condenser mics, the WA-CX12 is a faithful recreation of the most iconic of all time. A meticulously crafted homage to the revered AKG C12 hailed as the pinnacle of tube microphone excellence. Faithfully capturing the natural warmth and balanced tonality of its predecessor, this microphone pays tribute to the original's legacy. Inspired by the rare 1953-1963 production run of the AKG C12, prized for its unparalleled ability to capture the essence of vocal performances and room ambiance, the WA-CX12 embodies the sonic characteristics adored by generations of recording artists and engineers. From Sinatra to Michael Jackson and Tom Petty to Taylor Swift, a who's who list of artists has leaned on the open, airy sound of the AKG C12l. Staying true to the historic design, the WA-CX12 features a flat frequency response with subtle enhancements, including a slight dip at 2kHz and a gradual boost between 5-10kHz. Its edge-terminated CK12-style capsule offers nine polar patterns, including cardioid, omni, and figure-8, ensuring versatility in any recording scenario. Crafted with a premium 12AY7 vacuum tube and a custom TAB-Funkenwerk (AMI) USA Output Transformer, the WA-CX12 delivers a full, wide, and open sound that maximizes the potential of its components. Premium capacitors and a no-solder mask board ensure minimal noise for pristine audio reproduction. Bring the warmth, clarity, and timeless elegance of the WA-CX12 to your productions.
