I picked up this functioning, albeit - ahem - well loved Vox Super Continental (1967, I think? Possibly Italian) a little over 4 years ago after I heard word of a much loved Scottish band selling off some of their gear. (The story goes that it once belonged to another British musician of even greater note - though I’m not at all sure how one would go about establishing the provenance of that.)

Anyway, I was just keen to get hold of one for the purposes of playing & possibly restoring. It was of particular interest to my now sadly departed father, as he too was a fan of their sound and that whole era in general, so he was going to assist with some of the rebuild - including possibly fashioning a new lid, as that was missing entirely.

As you’ll maybe see from the pics, the legs are present (original, I think? Not sure!) and were attached when I bought it, but at some point the bolts in the back (clearly an earlier repair job) came away from the organ itself, so it now sits on a different keyboard stand. It plays pretty well - see the vid for a by no means comprehensive demo. There are some crackles & the vibrato seems to come & go, but for the most part it sound pretty magical, to my ears anyway.

Since my dad passed away 3 years ago I’m afraid I’ve not had the time, money or energy to spend on getting it fixed up.

I figure it might be time to let this go to someone more knowledgeable & determined…

Given the weight and size of this item I’m afraid I can’t offer delivery of this item - collection only. I am at least in an easy to reach location - on the ground floor! - with free parking available outside, so pick up should be a breeze.
