Epiphone 1960 Hummingbird Reissue Acoustic Electric Guitar - Heritage Cherry Sunburst
Hardshell Case Included
The Gibson Hummingbird™ was first introduced in 1960 and was the first square shoulder acoustic guitar model in the Gibson catalog. It arrived at the dawn of a new era in music and has been seen in the hands of many players since then, including Keith Richards and Brian Jones of the Rolling Stones, Eric Church, J Mascis, Joe Bonamassa, Gillian Welch, Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood of Radiohead, Steve Wariner, Dan Auerbach, and many more. Much of the Hummingbird’s appeal lies in its versatility. No matter how you attack this flat-top, whether softly fingerpicking, strumming it hard, or ripping single-note solos, it pumps out beautiful tones, making it an ideal choice, no matter what musical genres you’re into. Now, Epiphone, in collaboration with Gibson Custom, is proud to introduce the 1960 Hummingbird Reissue, an Inspired by Gibson Custom recreation of those iconic first-year Hummingbirds. This gorgeous acoustic guitar has a thermally aged solid Sitka spruce top that is reinforced with traditional scalloped X-bracing made from quarter-sawn, solid spruce. The back and sides of the 1960 Hummingbird Reissue are made from solid mahogany. It delivers a warm, rich tone overall that works extraordinarily well in a wide range of musical styles. The one-piece, thermally-aged, 24.75” scale mahogany neck has a Rounded profile that is capped with a bound rosewood fretboard that is outfitted with 20 standard frets and adorned with mother-of-pearl split parallelogram inlays.
