Here is a worthy project….
On a super rare Matsuamoku made Washburn from the late 70s.
It has a list of woes but should be fixable by the right talented luthier.
1). The truss rod is kaput. Dead
2) The fingerboard is lifting. The truss rod is now exposed and appears should lift out easily once the board is removed.
3.)There are cracks and lifting frets on the Rosewood board. One brass inlay fell out but is still with the bass.
4) Missing it’s nut and plastic truss headstock coverplate.
5) Pickups were swapped with a set of Basslines but appears originals are still in the case.
6) Original case included but missing handle
7) Missing a few knobs
8) Missing nut
Take a look at the many pics and you’ll get an excellent idea of what’s going on. This will require removal of the board and rod replacement. The neck binding separated and broke in a few places but the majority of it appears to be there.
Here’s your chance to score a deal on a multi thousand dollar bass. If you can complete the repairs this rare bird can come back to life. .
This bass is sold as is as pictured, final sale. We ship by Reverb safe shipping to the Upper 48 US states fully insured, signature required.
Local pickup is available in Philly if you’re nearby.
