Crafted in late 2023, here is a fine example of acoustic guitar expertise accrued by the Santa Cruz Guitar Company over 5 decades. SCGC celebrates their 50th anniversary in 2026.

Premium quality acoustic guitar with gorgeous tone woods (Sinker Redwood top, Indian Rosewood back and sides, snakewood bindings) that not only sound special but also give this instrument a very warm look and feel. The 42 Style abalone trim is narrow and tasteful versus the "bling" of many 42 and 45 Style guitars. Hot hide glue construction for scalloped Adirondack braces. Handcrafted by Richard Hoover's skilled luthier team at the Santa Cruz Guitar Company in Palo Alto, California in September 2023. 

This guitar is stunning to look at and listen to. If you've never played a Redwood soundboard guitar, I feel it is best characterized as delivering clarity in the highs; ample punch, resonance and harmonics in the mids; and a strong but not overpowering bass. Comfortable to hold. Extremely versatile and articulate for flat-picking, strumming and especially finger-style. I've enjoyed flatpicking Celtic and Bluegrass tunes, as well as its incredible sustain, harmonics and note texture when playing fingerstyle chord melodies.

Original owner. Purchased brand new in April 2024 from Gryphon Strings in Santa Cruz, California. Guitar and case are in EXCELLENT showroom condition. Used solely at home and stored in properly humidified case between play. Freshly polished and restrung. Non-smoker household. If not for the usual faint finish and pickguard swirls visible under inspection light, this guitar is in mint condition.
