1969 Fender Telecaster Thinline in stunning natural ash blonde finish. The guitar weighs only 2.49kg or 5.5 lbs! Neck dated 3 May 1969. This Telecaster had a storied career in the Manchester underground rock scene with Andy Pacino's Lloyd Almighty, who were contemporaries of Oasis. Andy would go on to be a prolific artist, journalist, author and filmmaker. The guitar case features Andy's artwork from the band seen on their t-shirts and posters, which is a wonderful bonus capturing a moment in time where British pop-rock in Manchester was about to take over the world. This guitar was there with the band when they put on the very last performance ever at Mancheter's famed Banshee nightclub before it was demolished.

From the lone surviving photo of the guitar on stage and from these pictures here, you can see that the guitar has had pick guard modifications over the course of its 56 years of life. One would expect alterations over more than half a century with an artist toured and studio recorded guitar, and this guitar is no exception. Its neck pickup was altered at some point, and the pots were replaced after decades of use. There are chips, dings, hairlines and road wear as to be expected. With that being said. The fretboard looks fantastic with far less wear than one would expect.

This is a guitar with real history during a serious movement of late 20th century music, an underground story in the bygone Manchester scene, and a soul that will carry on for years to come. Reading the Lloyd Almighty band website offers an entertaining glimpse back in time to a very different rock scene before the internet, smart phones and social media took over.

The guitar is priced for a quick sale as the lowest priced 60s Thinline Tele in the world. One could complain about it not being 100% original, but neither is Bruce Springsteen's Telecaster. Neither is a more expensive brand new Gibson Murphy Lab Aged guitar pretending to be this old. This is a real '69 Tele you can gig with on the road guilt-free and not have to worry about putting a ding in it.
