Vintage Seymour Duncan SH-1 '59 Model Bridge Humbucker
Made in the Late 1980's

Age and model: This pickup has no sticker. Based on the style of back plate, we know it's from the 1980's. Based on its DC resistance of 8.0k, it's an SH-1b bridge humbucker.

Description:  The ’59 bridge model (SH-1b) is a vintage output humbucker that’s great for rock, blues, and more. Its vintage-inspired coils give it an airy quality that is firmly in the PAF family, and the Alnico 5 bar magnet and vacuum wax potting make it compatible with lighter guitar strings and much louder amplifiers than were ever used in the 1950s. The result is a pickup with tons of old-school tonal character, but with a brighter top end, and a slightly more compressed sound. The ’59 model features a variety of vintage treatments, such as 42 AWG plain enamel mag wire, long-legged nickel-silver bottom plate, vintage single-conductor braided push back lead wire, and no logo. If you opt for a four-conductor version for coil splitting, the ’59 in single coil mode is crystal clear. As with all Duncan PAF-style pickups, the ’59 is wound on Seymour’s classic Leesona 102 pickup winding machine from the old Gibson factory in Kalamazoo, MI.

Dr. T's Tone Factory & Del Mar Lutherie: The fine print...

Condition: Our used parts have been tested and verified to work as they should. Used and vintage items will show signs of use. Please look at the photos. If you want a cosmetically "perfect" item, we recommend that you buy new in a factory sealed package. None of our used items will be cosmetically "perfect".

Shipping:  Includes ground shipping within the continental USA with insurance. Cost includes packaging materials and our time to pack up and drop off with the shipper. We generally ship guitars and amps via UPS and smaller items via USPS. We are a Reverb Fast Shipper and most of the time we can get small items out within one business day, but sometimes it can take a little longer, depending on our workload and other circumstances. Please note that USPS closes early on Saturdays and is closed Sundays and holidays, so if your order a small item on a Friday, it will not ship until the following Monday. If you are in a hurry for your item, please let us know, and we will do our best to accommodate you.

Videos:  We often include YouTube links to provide our clients with more information. We generally don't make these videos, but find ones that are for the same or similar item.

Returns:  We are a small business and can’t afford to offer free returns like the big guys.  There is a lot of time, effort and cost involved with listing, packing and shipping an item.  Please make sure you want the item before you commit to buy.  If we offer to take back an item as a courtesy, you would be responsible to pay all shipping costs and a restocking fee to cover our time.

About us:  We are a small shop in San Diego County, California.  We are part of the Southern California guitar community (Fender, Taylor, Carvin). We build custom electric guitars and hand-wired tube amps, and do mods and setups. We also buy, sell and trade vintage and used instruments. Our owner is a guitar enthusiast, wood worker and professional engineer. We've been doing this type of work since 1999 and have over a thousand happy customers. We are a Reverb Preferred Seller and our approval rating is 99.9%.

Best wishes and happy strumming!
