The Alvarez MG66CE Custom combines the warmth of all-solid African mahogany with enhanced playing comfort and elegant appointments. Its Grand Auditorium cutaway body delivers a woody, expressive voice with rich mids, sweet trebles, and clear bass, making it a versatile choice for fingerstyle playing, strummed accompaniment, and melodic lead work.
Comfort is central to the Custom design. A slim ebony bevel armrest softens the body edge beneath your picking arm, while a second bevel on the back creates a chest rest where the guitar leans against you. These carefully shaped contours make longer sessions more comfortable and add a distinctive visual touch.
Solid African mahogany is used for the top, back, and sides, paired with Alvarez’s FS6 forward-shifted, scalloped bracing. This design allows a larger area of the soundboard to vibrate freely, supporting an open response, clear articulation, and balanced projection.
The Shadowburst gloss finish extends across the top, back, and sides, highlighting the mahogany’s grain. Premium abalone purfling frames the body, complemented by mother-of-pearl inlays, an East Indian rosewood fingerboard and headstock facing, and premium open-gear tuners. A bi-level rosewood bridge, ebony bridge pins, and bone nut and saddle complete the appointments.
With a 25½" scale length, 1¾" nut width, and a cutaway for upper-fret access, the MG66CE Custom offers a comfortable, versatile platform for a wide range of playing styles.
For amplified performance, the LR Baggs HiFi system pairs dual bridge-plate sensors with a built-in preamp to capture the guitar’s balance, definition, and dynamics. Its lightweight, non-invasive design preserves the instrument’s acoustic character, while the closed sensors help resist feedback on stage.
An Alvarez AFC30 FlexiCase is included.
