High quality second hand recommended item!
This pre-owned, limited-edition 1951 Telecaster in Journeyman Relic Finish celebrates the 70th anniversary of its release in 1951. The Nocaster Blonde color makes this a standout piece!
This is a limited-edition 1951 Telecaster in Journeyman Relic Finish, celebrating the 70th anniversary of its 1951 release! The Telecaster is one of Fender's flagship guitars. The original Telecaster, before it was called the Telecaster, was the Broadcaster. Released in the early '50s, the name Broadcaster was already registered as a trademark by Gretsch, so the model name decal was quickly removed and the guitar was shipped with only the Fender logo, nicknamed the Nocaster.
This is a limited edition Telecaster produced in commemoration of its 70th anniversary. It is a 2021 Limited Edition, and the date is 05/02/2022, meaning it was manufactured in 2022.
The two-piece ash body, finished in Nocaster Blonde lacquer, offers exceptional resonance and beautiful looks. The one-piece maple is 2A flame-treated, and the neck features a thick 10/56 V-shape, based on measurements taken from an October 1956 production guitar.
The fingerboard radius is a rare vintage finish, with a compound radius of 7.25R-9.5R. The frets are narrow-tall, slightly wider and taller than typical vintage frets. The neck grip, fingerboard radius, and fret size all contribute to a neck with excellent playability, and the compound radius allows for a lower string height than normal.
The carefully selected ash body and one-piece neck produce a clear, crisp, and powerful sound that you can experience with just one chord. Unlike NOS finishes, there is no buffing process, so the tone is sensitive to the unevenness and thinness of the paint surface. The resonance of the body and neck develops with repeated playing, evolving into a vintage-like sound. This is a truly exceptional instrument.
The sound produced by the "50-51 BLACKGUARD" single coil pickup, which has a great body resonance and is hand-wound for excellent regeneration, does not significantly change the impression of the natural sound, and is easy to express natural nuances and is satisfying to play.
When it arrived, the pickup selector was equipped with a '51 Modified Nocaster, and when the rear pickup was selected and the tone was turned down, the rear and front pickups were blended together. When the center pickup was selected, only the front pickup's tone was disabled, and when the front pickup was selected, the preset tone was that of the front pickup. However, this particular guitar has been replaced with the standard mixed-tone wired control plate kit that was included when it was new.
(A control plate kit for the '51 Modified Nocaster wiring is also included.)
It's a standard mixed layout, so it's ready to go!
The bridge is equipped with a vintage-style 3-way saddle. The saddles are, of course, made of brass, and the non-tremolo design of the 3-way saddles produces a sound that's more direct and acoustic than a Stratocaster. The resonance is even more tangible than a Strat, as you'd expect from a Custom Shop guitar! All screws, including the truss rod and nut, are flathead screws, and even the protruding joint on the body, jig marks, and clear lacquer on the pickguard are vintage touches that will appeal to enthusiasts.
The body and neck are finished in Journeyman Relic. This guitar doesn't have the finish of heavy stage use, but rather the patina of a carefully cared-for guitar. While there's no extensive paint peeling, the back of the neck shows significant damage from heavy playing.
The back of the headstock and joint plate feature the "LIMITED EDITION" Custom Shop logo and engraved plate, marking this limited edition model. Don't miss out on this reproduction of a classic Fender Custom Shop instrument!
We have a recommended high-quality used item in stock! It was manufactured in 2022.
Because it is a relic, scratches that may have been made later are not completely visible, but there is little visible wear overall, and there are no issues with current playability. It has been fully maintained at our shop, so it is in recommended condition and ready to use right away.
The frets are in good condition and can be used without any problems. They have been lightly filed down. Approximately 90% of the frets remain. The nut is also in good condition and can be used as is. The truss rod can be adjusted normally without any problems.
It weighs approximately 3.23 kg, making it lightweight and well-balanced for easy use on stage, during recording sessions, or during rehearsals.
Accessories include a tweed hard case, certificate, spec sheet, bridge cover, key, '51 Modified Nocaster wiring control plate kit, and strap.
Don't miss this opportunity!
