                      You are looking at a classic and somewhat rarer 1960's Shure Brothers PE55SH model dynamic cardioid microphone based on the more common 55SW & 55S of that time. The PE55 series mic was basically the exact same microphone except that Shure Brothers decided to sell the 55S in a strictly high impedance setting so the PE55 & PE55SH was developed for audio equipment with Hi Z settings and where a Hi Z mic was compatible. If you had a guitar amplifier or a HAM radio set up then the PE55 was an excellent choice. It comes with an original Shure S37A model desk stand in which to display.

 The PE55 was first sold in the 1960. I'm not sure exactly how many years it was sold before being discontinued but it's safe to say it was finished by the mid to late 70's. You just don't see too many of these around and this one is pretty nice overall. I'd rate it a very conservative 7 + on a scale of 1 - 10.

 It should be noted however that while the mic does still worth the signal strength is very low and cannot be used for anything other than display or prop purposes unless a great working replacement element is installed.

 It will look very nice anywhere it sits in your home, office or studio and would make a nice award for somebody in the broadcasting or music industry.

 The satin chrome shows just very lite cosmetic wear. The mic has a very nice luster too. Zero deeps scratches in the satin chrome finish. Just a few small bubbles and scuff marks. There are zero bent or fractured ribs on this mic. The Shure label shows lite wear but completely legible. The original silk screens are in pretty decent shape with zero rips or odors. This mic is solid...no loose parts inside or out.

 I take the time to secure the inner element as it's held in place with 3 shock mounts that wear out with age. 

 The threads for the cable are excellent and the joint mechanism holds strong. The threading for the stand is perfect as well and this will screw onto any desk or floor stand you wish to use.

 The mic also comes with an original Shure S37A model mic stand as seen in pic # 2. It's just as nice as the mic and makes for a very handsome and stable platform. The stand is an all aluminum design that is quite aggressive looking and has a very modern mid century vibe.

 You can see there is just a few small scratches in the finish and it's free of any dents or fractures. The 4 original rubber pads are in excellent shape as well.

 The stand with mic is appx 10 1/2 inches tall X 4 inches wide X 6 inches deep.
