Switch or Blend Two Instruments

Two independent inputs let you keep two instruments plugged in at once. Use them to switch from a six-string to a twelve-string, jump to a backup or an alternate tuning between songs, or blend two pickup sources together for a fuller composite tone. Changeovers happen without unplugging, so the flow of the set never breaks while you move from one instrument to the next.

Discrete Class-A Piezo Optimization

At the heart of the PZ-Pre are 100% discrete Class-A PZB piezo boosters and an ultra-quiet preamp that adapts to any pickup system. Activating the PZB raises the input impedance to 10 megohms, the proper load for high-impedance piezo transducers, so they sound smooth and natural instead of thin and brittle. Paired with a proprietary response curve tuned for acoustic instruments, it flatters everything from flat-tops to orchestral strings.

Semi-Parametric EQ Built for Acoustic

The tone section pairs interactive bass and treble controls with a sweepable semi-parametric midrange, letting you find and adjust the exact frequency that defines your instrument's character. Because the voicing is tuned specifically for acoustic sources, the controls stay musical and smooth across their range, so you dial in a natural sound quickly rather than fighting the EQ.

Notch and Resonance Filters Stop Feedback

Feedback on stage usually comes from one resonant frequency ringing out of control, and the PZ-Pre gives you dedicated tools to kill it. A sweepable notch filter zeroes in on the offending frequency and pulls it down, a resonance control tames the body resonance common to hollow instruments, and a low-cut filter with 180-degree polarity reverse removes rumble and finds the quietest phase relationship to your monitors.

Pre and Post EQ Direct Outputs

The PZ-Pre offers both pre- and post-EQ balanced XLR direct outputs, a genuine dual-Radial-DI arrangement that lets you send a clean, dry signal to the house while a separate, EQ-shaped feed drives your stage monitors. An assignable effects loop drops pedals into the chain, a dedicated tuner output keeps a tuner fed, and boost and mute footswitches lift solos and silence the rig for tuning.
