Hofner CLUB 40 JOHN LENNON RE-ISSUE 2008 2000-2010 - NITRO CELLULOSE

To celebrate the 120th year of Höfner, they did a re-issue (limited to 120 guitars) of John's very first guitar! The right to buy these guitars was drawn out of the thousands of merchandisers present at that year's NAMM gathering in California (Anaheim). A high-profile dealer was there ( as was I ) with his checkbook wanting to buy all of them. I wanted 120/120 but jumped on this one and it has sat in my home as an investment since 2008 and needs to be played / enjoyed.

THIS #119 NEW OLD STOCK, UNSOLD, Hofner is a stunning reproduction of John Lennon's 1959 Club 40. Made in 2008, number 119 of a limited edition of 120, this is an exacting replica of the guitar that Lennon played at The Beatles marathon gigs in Hamburg in 1961. The single cutaway body is constructed from a Spruce top with Maple back and sides for a sweet tone that really kicks when its solitary neck single-coil is plugged in. The control panel houses a volume control and three tone switches, just like the original. Other features include a Tortoise pickguard, trapeze tailpiece, and an adjustable floating bridge. This instrument is in new condition and includes the original hardshell case, case candy, and original German shipping box. The case is super classy and includes a hygrometer and humidifier. It comes with a special edition of Andy Babiuk's famous "Beatles Gear"! Signed by Andy, Including a copy of the original invoice of John Lennon! The book has a slight ripple or two from shipping and there is a small scratch on the top lacquered over at the factory.
