The Who:
Beaten Path Drum Co.â„¢ is a family owned operation with plenty of musical instrument marketing and manufacturing experience. Mom was a professional seamstress for an American strap company and international festival promoter many moons ago. The sons (now old guys) are still active musicians and business owners. One still plays an occasional casino gig here and there and previously worked in management levels for some of the most prominent percussion brands in the world. The smart one has ventured over to the world of medicine but both recognize the value of music at so many levels and all have too many instruments accumulated over decades.
The What:
VINTAGE AMERICAN DRUMS MOSTLY – That’s what! To offer musicians of all types the very best possible VALUE in an instrument is our perpetual, personal challenge.
The Where:
Our two offices and home workshops are located in some of the most beautiful, and musically rich parts of the western U.S. respectively with offices in both the Seattle and Denver metro areas. We currently have suppliers and production partners in different parts of Asia, Europe, and most recently, Australia.
The When:
Early 2014 is when BPDC officially came to fruition but it has really been a work in progress for decades if one really reflects. We still have our first drum kit a 1966 Ludwig, purchased used in 1976. Also, as the story goes, $$$$ was spent on a brand new Pearl kit in 1985 to use in the studio. After wrestling the stock snare for a bit the calm, seasoned engineered brought out a Ludwig 1920's Deluxe Black Beauty and a 1930's Slingerland Radio King. The problem was solved, ears were enlightened, and a lifetime quest was set.
The Why:
Time to slowly sell off and share some of the wonderful instruments we have accumulated and enjoyed for decades. We mix Passion, Creativity, Experience, Values, People, and Hard Work with the aforementioned and are proud of our results and our relationships. Don't forget to ask for hard to find parts as you never know as we literally have tons. Trade references upon request.
