David Palmer played this white sparkle lacquer DW Collectors Series drum set in live performances with Rod Stewart circa 2008-2013. The set was played in some of the biggest venues in the world.

David Palmer has been a member of Rod Stewart's band for 35 years. He joined Rod's band in 1990 and has been running strong ever since. David is also a producer and composer and has worked with artists including The Pet Shop Boys, Tom Jones, Billy Squier, Bryan Adams, Art Of Noise, Sting, Al Green, Danny Wilson and Trevor Horn. He was a founding member of the British group ABC and also a member of The The with Johnny Marr (The Smiths) and Matt Johnson.

The set still looks and sounds fantastic. The subtle white sparkle finish is best described as "glamorous". It's absolutely stunning. They sound punchy and controlled, and have a nice rich tone. There are some extremely minor cracks in the lacquer finishes of some of the drums. They are so minor that they went unnoticed during our whole cleaning and restoration process and photo shoot. You'd have to look really hard to even find these flaws, let alone see them. There is absolutely no damage to the shell. You can see close ups in the last 4 photos.

David used this set in a variety of configurations. Sometimes he'd play with one or two rack toms and one or two floor toms. Over the six year span he played these drums with Rod Stewart, he played it as a four, five and six piece set. It currently includes a 24x16" bass drum, 15x13" floor tom, 12x9" rack tom, and 10x8" rack tom. There is a DW single "consolete" tom mount, mounted to the bass drum. There is an additional hole drilled that allows the tom to be mounted higher or lower on the bass drum.

The bass drum is fitted with an original Celtic Football Club logo bass drum head. Celtic has been near and dear to Rod Stewart for decades. The logo has been Rod's unofficial logo for years.
